Dit werk is 80X120X4 cm, geschilderd op een linnen doek. De cirkel staat voor heelheid en oneindigheid: de cyclus van leven, adem, ontstaan en verdwijnen. Het is geen perfecte cirkel, maar een doorleefde. Dat suggereert dat heelheid niet ontstaat door perfectie, maar door ervaring, door slijtage, door tijd.
De ruwe lagen en het opengewerkte oppervlak verbeelden de lagen van bewustzijn. Elke laag is een herinnering, een emotie, een fase die is afgezet en weer opengebroken. Niets is verborgen gehouden; alles mocht zichtbaar worden. Dit is geen beschermend oppervlak, maar een eerlijke huid.
De donkere opening in het centrum werkt als een innerlijke poort. Het is de plek van stilte, van het niet-weten. Dit is het innerlijk centrum, het punt waar het ego oplost en waar je het onbekende ontmoet. Het is geen leegte in negatieve zin, maar een vruchtbare leegte: een ruimte waarin iets nieuws kan ontstaan.
De sobere, koele kleuren versterken het gevoel van verstilling en introspectie. Ze nodigen uit tot vertraging, tot naar binnen keren. Er is geen afleiding, geen versiering — alleen wat essentieel is.
De zichtbare sporen van handeling herinneren eraan dat bewustwording een proces is, geen eindpunt. Elke kras, elke breuk is een stap op de weg naar inzicht. Het werk ademt overgave: niets is geforceerd, alles mocht zijn zoals het werd.
Dit werk gaat over thuiskomen bij de kern. Over de moed om door de lagen heen te gaan, de duisternis niet te vermijden, en daarin juist verbinding te vinden. Het fluistert dat stilte niet leeg is, maar vol betekenis.
The circle represents wholeness and infinity: the cycle of life, breath, creation, and disappearance. It is not a perfect circle, but a lived-through one. This suggests that wholeness does not come about through perfection, but through experience, through wear and tear, through time.
The rough layers and the openwork surface represent the layers of consciousness. Each layer is a memory, an emotion, a phase that has been deposited and then broken open again. Nothing is hidden; everything was allowed to become visible. This is not a protective surface, but an honest skin.
The dark opening in the center functions as an inner portal. It is the place of silence, of not-knowing. This is the inner center, the point where the ego dissolves and where you encounter the unknown. It is not a void in a negative sense, but a fertile void: a space in which something new can emerge.
The sober, cool colors enhance the sense of stillness and introspection. They invite slowing down, turning inward. There is no distraction, no decoration—only what is essential. The visible traces of action remind us that awareness is a process, not an end point. Every scratch, every break is a step on the path to insight. The work exudes surrender: nothing is forced, everything was allowed to be as it was.
This work is about coming home to the core. About the courage to penetrate the layers, not to avoid the darkness, and to find connection there. It whispers that silence is not empty, but full of meaning.

De verf is in talloze lagen aangebracht — geschraapt, opgebouwd, opnieuw overschilderd — waardoor een sterk palimpsestachtig oppervlak ontstaat. Oude lagen blijven zichtbaar en dialogeren met nieuwe, wat wijst op een proces van voortdurende transformatie.
Het kleurgebruik is intens en symbolisch. Warme okers, gelen en roden botsen en versmelten met koele blauwen en turkooizen. Deze tegenpolen vertegenwoordigen het spel tussen aarde en geest, tussen vitaliteit en verstilling. Het blauw suggereert innerlijke ruimte, bewustzijn en diepte, terwijl het geel en rood staan voor levenskracht, beweging en incarnatie.
De textuur is uitgesproken impasto, met een bijna architectonische huid. Het oppervlak voelt als een reliëf, wat het schilderij een quasi-sculpturale kwaliteit geeft. Deze tactiliteit benadrukt dat het werk niet alleen visueel, maar ook lichamelijk ervaren wil worden. Spiritueel gezien verbeeldt dit de belichaamde ervaring: bewustzijn dat niet zweeft, maar zich vastzet in materie.
De zichtbare sporen van handeling — krassen, vegen, verticale en horizontale bewegingen — dragen een sterk gesturaal karakter. Ze functioneren als registraties van tijd en aanwezigheid, vergelijkbaar met een meditatie in beweging. Elk gebaar is een moment van aandacht, een afdruk van innerlijke staat. Het schilderij wordt zo een "energetisch archief".
Samengevat: dit is een werk waarin materie, kleur en gebaar fungeren als dragers van bewustzijn. Het schilderij nodigt niet uit tot begrijpen, maar tot afstemmen. Het vraagt om een contemplatieve blik, waarin de kijker zichzelf herkent als onderdeel van dezelfde gelaagde, dynamische stroom.
The composition is all-over: there is no hierarchical center, no point of rest. The image field functions as a single energetic continuum. The paint is applied in countless layers—scraped, built up, repainted—creating a strong, palimpsest-like surface. Old layers remain visible and dialogue with new ones, suggesting a process of ongoing transformation.
The use of color is intense and symbolic. Warm ochres, yellows, and reds collide and merge with cool blues and turquoises. These opposites represent the interplay between earth and spirit, between vitality and stillness. The blue suggests inner space, consciousness, and depth, while the yellow and red represent life force, movement, and incarnation.
The texture is distinctly impasto, with an almost architectural surface. The surface feels like a relief, giving the painting a quasi-sculptural quality. This tactility emphasizes that the work is intended to be experienced not only visually but also physically. Spiritually speaking, this represents the embodied experience: consciousness that doesn't float, but rather becomes fixed in matter.
The visible traces of action—scratches, strokes, vertical and horizontal movements—bear a strong gestural quality. They function as records of time and presence, comparable to a meditation in motion. Each gesture is a moment of attention, an imprint of an inner state. The painting thus becomes an "energetic archive".
In short: this is a work in which matter, color, and gesture function as carriers of consciousness. The painting invites not understanding, but attunement. It demands a contemplative gaze, in which the viewer recognizes themselves as part of the same layered, dynamic flow.
Dit is een linnen doek van 100X120X4 cm. De verf die ik gebruikt heb is acryl. Dit is een abstract atmosferisch schilderij dat inzet op stemming in plaats van vorm. De gedempte aardetinten geven het werk een ingetogen sfeer. Niets schreeuwt, alles fluistert. Het werk beschrijft psalm 1 uit de Bijbel. Hij zal zijn als een boom gepland aan stromend water, op tijd draagt hij vrucht, zijn takken verdorren nooit.
Dit werk balanceert tussen herkenning en loslaten, typisch voor dit soort abstractie.
Het schilderij nodigt uit tot vertragen, tot projectie van je eigen stemming.

The vertical and horizontal lines symbolize the crucifixion of Jesus. It's a powerful and symbolic work that represents eternal life thanks to the sacrifice of our Lord. The work requires a context of breathing space to make it even more impressive.
Dit werk is 90X90X4 CM, geschilderd op een linnen doek. Wat je hier ziet. voelt als een doorsnede van tijd. De cirkel doet denken aan de jaarringen van een boom: seizoen na seizoen. Deze tijd is gedragen en wordt vastgehouden. Het midden is cruciaal. Het is een open, gewond, rouw centrum. Kwetsbaarheid, het hart van de mens, het hart van de schepping. Lijden dat niet wordt verstopt maar ook niet wordt uitgebuit.

What you see here feels like a cross-section of time. The circle is reminiscent of the growth rings of a tree: season after season. This time is carried and held. The center is crucial. It is an open, wounded, mourning center. Vulnerability, the heart of humanity, the heart of creation. Suffering that is neither hidden nor exploited.
The circular shape has something sacred. It refers to wholeness, eternity. God as beginning and end. The circle is rough and lived-through. Holiness is not separate from brokenness. Quite the opposite.
The use of color symbolizes the dialogue between heaven and earth. This painting does not force, it does not preach, it whispers. It invites us to look, to silence, to inner movement. Not to force answers, but to create space.
Dit werk is gemaakt op een linnen doek van 100x160X4 cm. Je ziet een cirkel die in beweging is. Alsof er iets van binnenuit naar buiten wil. Geen gesloten vorm maar eentje die lijkt te ademen, te draaien, bijna open te breken. Ruw, intens, vol richting. Het is niet netjes, niet af maar krachtig en onstuitbaar. Het voelt als een explosie van leven. Het licht is geen wit licht maar kleurig, vermengd met aarde, vuur en water.
Hemel en aarde grijpen in elkaar. God in de wereld. Geest en materie, stilte en hartstocht die mekaar vinden.
Het centrum voelt als het hart, niet glad, niet perfect maar levend. Misschien zelfs gewond maar net daardoor zo echt. Het werk verklaart niets maar het openbaart. Het fluistert: hier gebeurt iets dat groter is dan jij.
Gedragen door een kracht die je niet kan vastpakken, alleen ervaart in stilte.
You see a circle in motion. As if something from within wants to emerge. Not a closed form, but one that seems to breathe, to rotate, almost to break open. Raw, intense, full of direction. It's not neat, unfinished, but powerful and unstoppable. It feels like an explosion of life. The light isn't white light, but colorful, mingled with earth, fire, and water.
Heaven and earth intertwine. God in the world. Spirit and matter, silence and passion, finding each other.
The center feels like the heart, not smooth, not perfect, but alive. Perhaps even wounded, but precisely because of that, so real. The work explains nothing, but it reveals. It whispers: something greater than you is happening here.
Carried by a force you can't grasp, only experience in silence.
Dit werk is uitgevoerd op linnen doek van 60 × 80 × 4 cm en manifesteert zich als een uitgesproken materieschilderij. Wat op afstand een verstild, abstract landschap lijkt, ontvouwt zich van dichtbij als een huid van verf — dik, gelaagd en bijna aardachtig in zijn fysieke aanwezigheid. "grounded"
De verf is rijkelijk en pasteus aangebracht, met duidelijke sporen van paletmes en grove kwast. Horizontale ribbels, kruiselings ingekerfde lijnen en schraapsporen geven het oppervlak een ruw, tactiel karakter. Het doek is niet louter beschilderd, maar bewerkt; de verf is gemodelleerd, verschoven, opgebouwd en deels weer opengelegd.
De compositie is horizontaal georiënteerd. In het midden loopt een smalle, grillige strook die doet denken aan een oeverlijn of sedimentlaag. Daarboven bevindt zich een lichtere, bewogen zone waarin de verf in brede banen is uitgekamd. Het licht vangt zich op de glanzende toppen van de structuur, waardoor een subtiel spanningsveld ontstaat tussen matte en reflecterende delen — soms met een bijna metallische glans.
Onder de denkbeeldige horizon verdicht de kleur zich tot diepe tonen van bruin en omber. Het oppervlak oogt hier compacter en zwaarder, met donkere accenten die als schaduwen of spiegelingen functioneren. De aardse tonaliteit — van oker en sienna tot gebrande umber — roept associaties op met grond, klei, roest en verweerde aarde. Af en toe gloeit een warme roesttint op, wat het geheel een innerlijke gelaagdheid en levendigheid geeft.
De kracht van dit werk ligt in de spanning tussen abstractie en landschappelijke suggestie. Het toont geen specifieke plek, maar evoceert geologie en tijd: afzettingen, erosie, sporen van handeling. Het schilderij lijkt minder geschilderd dan gevormd — als een landschap dat is opgebouwd uit lagen herinnering en materie.
Met zijn fysieke diepte van 4 cm krijgt het werk bovendien een objectmatig karakter. Het staat niet alleen voor de wand, maar neemt er ruimte in. Het nodigt uit tot nabijheid: om te kijken, te vertragen en de textuur met de ogen te voelen. In die zintuiglijke ontmoeting openbaart zich de ware intensiteit van het werk.

Horizontal ridges, cross-hatched incisions, and scraped passages give the surface a raw, tactile character. The canvas is not merely painted but worked; the pigment has been modeled, shifted, built up, and partially revealed again.
The composition is horizontally oriented. Across the center runs a narrow, irregular band reminiscent of a shoreline or sediment layer. Above it lies a lighter, more agitated zone where the paint has been combed into broad horizontal movements. Light catches on the glossy peaks of the texture, creating a subtle tension between matte and reflective areas — at times producing an almost metallic sheen.
Below the implied horizon, the color deepens into rich browns and umbers. Here, the surface appears denser and heavier, with dark accents functioning like shadows or reflections. The earthy tonal range — from ochre and sienna to burnt umber — evokes associations with soil, clay, rust, and weathered terrain. Occasional warm, rust-like glows introduce an inner vitality and layered depth.
The strength of the work lies in the tension between abstraction and landscape suggestion. It does not depict a specific place but evokes geology and time: sedimentation, erosion, traces of intervention. The painting feels less painted than formed — like a landscape constructed from layers of memory and matter.
With its physical depth of 4 cm, the work also assumes an object-like presence. It does not simply hang on the wall but occupies space. It invites proximity: to look closely, to slow down, and to “feel” the texture with the eyes. In that sensory encounter, the true intensity of the work reveals itself.
