NFT’s zijn overal. Je ziet ze op social media, in het nieuws en in de kunstwereld. Digitale kunst die voor veel geld verkocht wordt — vaak zonder dat je het ooit fysiek kan vasthouden.

Maar eerlijk?
Ik kies daar bewust niet voor.

Als kunstenaar achter Elisabeth Verwaest Eve abstracte kunst kies ik voor iets anders: het echte werk. Tastbaar. Voelbaar. Aanwezig.

Kunst moet je kunnen ervaren

Abstracte kunst draait om gevoel. Om energie. Om wat een werk met je doet wanneer je ervoor staat.

Een scherm kan mooi zijn, maar het is niet hetzelfde als:

• de textuur van verf
• de gelaagdheid van een doek
• de kracht van kleuren in het echt

 Dat is iets wat je alleen ervaart met fysieke kunst.

Het unieke van handgemaakt werk

Elke schilderij dat ik maak is:

• uniek
• met de hand opgebouwd
• ontstaan vanuit intuïtie en emotie

Bij NFT’s is het vaak digitaal, reproduceerbaar en — hoe mooi ook — minder verbonden met het fysieke maakproces.

Voor mij zit de ziel van kunst net in dat proces.

Geen hype, maar duurzaamheid

NFT’s hebben hun moment gehad. En hoewel ze blijven bestaan, voelt het voor mij vaak als een hype.

Ik kies liever voor:

• tijdloze kunst
• werken die blijven bestaan
• iets dat je generaties kan doorgeven

Een schilderij aan de muur heeft een andere waarde dan een bestand in een digitale wallet.

 Waarde zit niet alleen in technologie

NFT’s worden vaak gezien als investering. Maar kunst is voor mij meer dan dat.

Het gaat om:

• connectie
• emotie
• rust of energie in een ruimte

Echte abstracte kunst zoals Elisabeth Verwaest Eve leeft in een interieur. Het verandert een ruimte. Dat doet een NFT niet op dezelfde manier.

Persoonlijke connectie met kunst

But honestly?
 I consciously choose not to follow that path.

Abstract art is all about feeling. Energy. The impact a piece has when you stand in front of it.

A screen can be beautiful, but it’s not the same as:

• the layers on a canvas
• the power of colors in real life

 That’s something you can only experience with physical art.
